Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was a natural athlete and developed a passion to sprint in the sprints at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition she was ranked in the top two in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in just 10 weeks. Felix completed high school in 2003 and was signed by Adidas to become an athlete in professional competition. Following that, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. The following year, Felix was awarded her very first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking an all-time junior world record sprinting 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest winner in the 200m in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix took part in the Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her competitions.
